Train With Us

People holding a banner that says We Believe

Creating Safer, More Supportive Spaces

At RSVP West Midlands, we believe in the power of knowledge to transform lives. That is why we offer highly professional trainings for those organisations that value the safety of their staff, customers and communities.

Our training packages are designed to empower professionals and organisations to respond to sexual abuse and trauma with compassionconfidence, and clarity.

Whether you’re in healthcare, social care, education, corporate services, or the voluntary sector, our training helps you build environments that are trauma-informedempathetic, and rooted in supporting survivors for the best outcome.

It is your chance to learn how to best support survivors, whether they are your colleagues, staff or service users.

When you train with us, you support so many others. All proceeds from our training and consultancy are used to run our vital services across Birmingham and Solihull that support survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Core Training Packages

Our foundational sessions offer deep, compassionate insight into:

  • The realities and impacts of sexual violence on children and adults
  • How to respond to disclosures with care and confidence
  • Trauma-informed approaches that centre survivors
  • Supporting mental health, work and wellbeing in your setting

Meet Our Trainers

Michelle Diaz and Tracey Secker, our specialist trainers.

Say hello to our specialised training experts, Michelle Diaz and Tracey Secker. They both joined RSVP in April 2024.

Michelle is an experienced sexual health trainer and a consultant on various policy projects. Since 1993 she has worked within the NHS, Local Authorities, third sector and as a freelance consultant.

Tracey has experience of training in domestic abuse, and knowledge of trauma and other forms of abuse. This has been delivered to multi-agency organisations, frontline services and in commercial sectors.

Both trainers continuously review, develop and improve our training sessions, working hard to ensure a survivor-led approach to sexual trauma. During the period of 2024-2025, we delivered 48 sessions to 714 professionals, generating income to support RSVP’s essential lifesaving services.

“So interesting, oozes enthusiasm. Great, thank you.”

“Very informative, delivered with passion and enthusiasm.”

“Very knowledgeable and good at explaining complex theory”

“This training was brilliant- I felt engaged throughout and feel like i have learned so much.”

“Really enjoyed it. Found it to be a great balance of practical advice, challenging misconceptions, and guidance towards resources and further academic research to continue learning in the longer term. Great facilitation of group discussion. Given the diversity of people attending (and their reasons for doing so), this session still did well at meeting each of our needs.”
