Adult Counselling
We are deeply saddened to announce that from Wednesday 1st April 2026, we stopped accepting new referrals to our Adult Counselling Service.
This includes to our Asylum Seeker and Refugee Survivor Counselling Service.
Please refer to our longer announcement on our news page for more information. We are reviewing this on a regular basis, with our first review week beginning 25th May 2026, then the week beginning 24th August 2026. Sadly, we are unable to reopen yet.
Our next review is in early November.
We still continue to support adult survivors through RSVP’s:
- ISVA Service, for survivors who are reporting, or have reported, through the criminal justice system.
- Support Hub, online self-led support programmes, written by a survivor for female survivors (and those who support them). We also have a Male Support Hub for male survivors. Survivors can email for log-on details to access the Hub programmes.
- Telephone Helpline, providing support on the telephone.
- Webchat, written, live, supportive chat.
- Free Self-help information and resources
- Time limited counselling for adult survivors, who have been referred via the SARC, usually after a recent sexual offence.
Other Counselling Services for Adults Survivors, While we Pause New Referrals, Include:
GINA (support for women survivors only)
Counselling can be offered through our trusted, sister organisation, if you can afford to pay for counselling. GINA offers immediate specialist counselling (there are no waiting times), and bespoke free resources and some paid for products for women 18+ who have been subjected to sexual violence & abuse. Some of the surplus income raised through GINA, is donated back to RSVP to enable us to continue our free support services.
Safeline (support for survivors of all genders, aged 16+)
Free, trauma-informed counselling and therapy, provided over the phone and online. National service for all survivors, aged 16+, affected by child sexual abuse, and those who support them too (loved ones, friends, parents, carers, partners etc.) Service not restricted by geography of where the survivor or those who support them, live. Open to anyone living in England and Wales. Full interpretation service available, including via BSL. Survivors and supporters can self refer, by downloading the Self-Referral Form for National Telephone & Online Counselling Service from this page. Survivors and supporters can also be referred by an organisation, who can download and complete the External (Third Party) Referral Form for Telephone & Online Counselling. Also from this page.
For male survivors Safeline also offers:
